Hearing dog extraordinaire
After meningitis at 18 months of age, Dr Moyer lost more than 80% of her hearing. Divine was her hearing service dog. They started their journey together in 2005, when she was matched with her partner by the San Francisco Hearing Dog Program. Divine alerted Dr Moyer to sounds she could not hear - the doorbell, her phone, the bell between classes, even people calling her name. Divine taught her the value of a stubborn disposition, kept her going during long nights of studying, and gave emotional support to her entire veterinary school class. Divine is the inspiration behind Divine Dentistry.
Divine passed away in April 2020 at the age of 16, and we miss her dearly.
