Dr Moyer’s dog Nick visits Divine Dentistry

Border collie looks pleadingly at the camera.

Nick! Border Collie Heeler mix extraordinaire. Nick LOVES his ball. He chases his ball with EXTREME EXUBERANCE. One day, Nick was chasing his ball, and we heard him hit the fence and cry out, before continuing to play.

Nick seemed fine on the outside…We noticed no change in Nicks’ love for his ball, or his food, or anything else.

A few days later, Nick was licking his lips just a little bit differently than usual, and Dr Moyer looked in his mouth. This is what she saw. OUCH!

Nick was absolutely mortified to hear that he could have NO FOOD the morning of his appointment with Divine Dentistry. It was very hard to resist feeding him.

Nick had an IV catheter placed so that we could give him his anesthetic. Most patients do better with a bit of sedation before an IV is placed, but Nick was very brave and trusts his mom completely.

An xray was taken of each tooth in the mouth - dogs have 42!

Xrays showed the extent of the damage. OUCH!

After extractions, an xray is taken to verify that every bit of the tooth and root was extracted.

After the teeth are extracted, the area is sutured to protect the sockets while they heal.

After his procedure, Nick needed to be snug and cozy and get some extra love and attention while he recoverd.
